Rainbow House is situated in the center of town in Sihanoukville. The house has six bedrooms, two living rooms, bathrooms, a kitchen and a large outdoor play area. It is within walking distance of the children's school. Twelve children and three staff members currently live at Rainbow House.
At Rainbow, we have a stable daily routine that allows time for education, meals and play time. The children, like most Cambodians, wake up before sunrise and go to sleep shortly after sun down. While living in the house, they develop strong, caring bonds with the other children and develop necessary social interaction skills. The children share responsibilities in the home such as cleaning, washing clothes and cooking. Life at Rainbow House is very active. Much time is spent playing basketball or football in the front yard or playing chase. Arts and crafts are also strongly encouraged at Rainbow House. Rainbow’s current home is at maximum capacity and is on leased land. Our goal is to purchase land in Sihanoukville and build a facility to meet Rainbow’s needs and welcome more children. Fundraising efforts are underway to support this initiative.
